Jeremy Fricke - Tri-Faith Initiative
Lucas Schulte - Tri-Faith Initiative
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) can feel complicated and difficult to define, but Tri-Faith Initiative sees religious equity as similar to hosting a dinner gathering where no one leaves hungry and everyone belongs. Walking through this metaphor, the workshop defines a lens for recognizing equity and inequities in our organizations and societies, with special attention to religion. Introducing practical tools that support defining diversity, analytical self-reflection, and recognizing potential structural change, audience members will gain a new way to look at DEI broadly, and begin to recognize the necessity of religious equity. This workshop also serves as an introduction to understanding Tri-Faith Initiative’s forthcoming Religious Equity Seminar, a 2-day seminar invested in understanding privilege and marginalization around religion and race in the United States. If you want to learn a lot and practice applying tools for better DEI work in just one session, this is the session for you
