As a consultant, Shari Collins (she/her/hers) is a dot connector!
Experience: Her career spans across education, training/development, HR, and DEI. With over 25 years in the DEI field, Shari enjoys speaking, consulting and training across the globe in various industries. Shari holds several contracts with esteemed companies, including the National Education Association, where she is certified to facilitate 24 professional development courses for educators across the country. Shari is proud to remain a certified educator and mentoring advocate, and she specializes in the use of active engagement and adult learning theory in her work.
Author: Shari is also a published author, having written a chapter on "Inclusion" for the Council of Chief State School Officers for the "Parent Ready" book series.
Education: In 2022, Shari graduated from Inclusive Communities’ Lead Diversity Cohort, which is a year of DEI leadership training. She graduated from Hastings College with a Bachelor of Arts, and from University of Nebraska Omaha with a Master of Science, and she holds numerous certifications.
Free Time: Shari loves reading and learning, caring for her plants, traveling, and spending time with her family, which includes 2 rescue Yorkie sisters.
Volunteering: Shari is serving her 3rd year with the Omaha Chamber's CODE (Commitment to Opportunity, Diversity, and Equity) Planning Team, and she is a Board Member for HRAM (Human Resource Association of the Midlands), serves as the co-chair of the HRAM DEI Committee, the chair of the HRAM IDEAL Award, and is the HRAM Liaison to the CODE initiative. Shari is also a national facilitator for Open Sesame’s DEI Club. Shari is the DEI Director for HR-NE, which is the Nebraska HR Council, a state affiliate of SHRM.
